About The Award
The scholarship honors the legacy of Jerry M. Greene by supporting Springfield (OH) City Schools graduating seniors as they take their next steps toward a bright future. For 2026, we anticipate awarding up to four (4) scholarships of $2,500 each to deserving students.

Applications for the 2026 Scholarship are currently being accepted. The deadline for applications for the current year is April 15, 2026. Applications must be postmarked no later than that date for consideration. Applications submitted online must be received no later than midnight (EST) April 15, 2026.
Scholarship Info
Open to all Springfield City Schools graduating seniors, with priority given to students with learning differences, the scholarship is available to those pursuing college, trade school, apprenticeships, military service, workforce training, public service, coding boot camps and more.

The Jerry M. Greene Memorial Scholarship is wholly funded by donations. Every donation regardless of size helps keep the legacy, passion and efforts of Jerry M. Greene alive. Your donation will help aide and support the advancement of those students who exemplify the mission of the scholarship through education, community involvement and a commitment to excellence.

He believed that education transcended the classroom and that community involvement, social organizations, athletics and participation in other extracurricular activities could give students the keys to future successes.
He believed that the balance students demonstrated between classroom achievement, purpose, community involvement, social activism and over-coming obstacles was indicative of that student's potential.
