The intended purpose of the scholarship is to assist students with disabilities at Springfield High School (Springfield, OH) in furthering their academic goals in secondary educational institutions (4-year colleges/universities, community colleges, trade schools, technical school, apprenticeship programs, etc.) after graduation from Springfield High. In the absence, of such applicants the scholarship is open to all graduating seniors of Springfield High School.
All applicants must be graduating seniors at Springfield High School (Springfield, OH) and must be furthering their education at a secondary institution (4 year college or university, 2 year college, technical school, trade school, junior college, etc.).
Applicants must fully complete and submit the scholarship application (available here) including an essay of NO MORE THAN 500 words on the importance of education no later than March 23, 2018.
Preference is given to students with disabilities, but in the absence of such candidates the scholarship is open to all Springfield High students.

Q: Who is eligible to apply for the scholarship?
A: The scholarship is open to all graduating Springfield High School seniors that are pursuing their post-high school educational goals at a secondary institution. (i.e. college, trade school, community college, technical school, junior college).
Q: Do I have to attend a 4-year college to receive the award?
A: NO. The scholarship is open to all Springfield High School graduating seniors that are actively pursuing education in any post-secondary institution (i.e. trade school, community college, technical school).
Q: Is GPA the only factor used when selecting a recipient?
A: NO! While we do consider an applicant's GPA, it is by no means the only criteria used to determine award recipients. Many factors including GPA, community involvement, extracurricular activities, extenuating circumstances, honors & awards and more are all reviewed when reviewing applications.
Q: Do I need to submit a transcript or letters of reference?
A: NO! Although, submitting these extra materials may work in your benefit during the application review process, official school transcripts and/or letters of recommendation are not required.

A: The deadline to apply for the 2018 Scholarship is March 23, 2018. All mailed applications and materials must be postmarked no later than March 23, 2018 for consideration. Online applications must be submitted prior to 11:59 p.m. (EST) on March 23, 2018.
Q: How many awards are given out each year and what amount(s)?
A: In 2018, we anticipate awarding up to four (4) $1,000 cash scholarships plus an educational tool (e.g. IPad, laptop) to qualified applicants.
